The high capacity oil sump increases the oil capacity of liters 0,65 bringing it up to from liters 2,3 to about 3.
Referring to its design we can notice that the bottom side of the of the sump is supported with a thicker and
reinforced design.

Adaptability:
|
You can use HC oil sump into LT230 Transfer box
equipped on Land Rover Defender, Discovery I & II, Range Rover up to
1989.
|
|
|
Benefits:
|
The increased
oil capacity improves LT230 transfer gearbox performances at a tropical
temperature, when the engine is brought up to its potential limit and it
avoids LT230 overheating. Also, with a better oil capacity the Lt230
Transfer gearbox, mechanical parts duration are
longer. Maintenance and servicing of oil renewal is lesser.

Fitting:
|
refitting the new oil
sump it takes less than one hour. You do not need to remove the transfer
gearbox and you can make it even without the jacking beam. The
first step is to locate a container beneath the drain plug in the
bottom of the gearbox casing, then screw the drain plug and allow the
oil to drain. To execute the refitting procedures please follow
the figure A and B. At the end of the refitting procedures close the
drain plug. Refill the gearbox with API-GL5 hypoid oil through the filler/level hole, until the oil
level reaches the lower edge of the hole. Remember to park the
vehicle on level ground.
