Yes, marmitta can be a pot, but also muffler or silencer, as you Englishmen prefer to say.
Scarico is another misleading word: can be drainage as in plumbing for waste waters, but in a car it means exhaust.
Here and there you will also read about "ponti", but it would be very wrong to translate them as "bridges", which however is part of the meaning! Better to translate as axles.
Take also "balestra", which in the middle ages was a powerful weapon in the hands of an archer, but here it means leaf spring, all too well known to Series owners...
